VAK reflection: explore learning strategies
A short reflection to choose a learning strategy and try it in practice. There are no right or wrong answers.
This is not an ability or psychological test. It does not identify a fixed learning style. Choose a strategy for the task and check what you have actually learned.
Your next learning experiment
Draw a diagram from memory and compare it with the material. Fill in what is missing.
Close the material and explain the key points in your own words. Check what you could not recall.
Solve a new task without following an example. Compare your solution and correct mistakes.
After a short break, try again without prompts. If you struggle, try another explanation or ask your teacher. Judge the outcome, rather than labelling yourself.
This reflection tool does not ask for contact details or create a student profile.
Why do we not label learners?
Preferring pictures, explanations or practical activity does not mean you can only learn that way. Research does not support matching teaching to a fixed VAK learning style.
